Meetings
Please feel free to come and visit
our meetings; if you enjoy yourself and think you might want to
try and grow some Gesneriads we welcome you to join us as a new
member. Feel free to bring along a friend whom you think might
be interested.
Meetings are held on the
3rd Sunday of each month, September through June, at 2:00 p.m.
As of November 2007 we are meeting at Meadowville Garden Centre
265 Edinburgh Rd. N. Guelph, Ontario N1H
1E2

The meeting room is accessible at the extreme back of the store. . A complete list of our upcoming meeting dates
and topics can be found below.
Our meetings will run usually for
1.5 - 2 hrs. including guest speakers, special topics,
slides shows, snacks and beverages, a mini show if members bring
their plants in or a show and tell of new and interesting
Gesneriad plants you are growing. It is a chance to have a lot
of fun with new and old friends and learn a lot too.

2007/2008 Schedule (meetings

Sept. 30th -
hands-on workshop – potting up seedlings, splitting plants,
repotting fall cleanup/ freshen up for the new growing season.
Feel free to bring problem plants or seedlings from last years
projects.

Nov. 18th -
Annual General Meeting (Treasurers Report, Membership Report,
Presidents Report, New by-laws to be discussed and voted on,
annual elections to be held, Other business either arranged or
points brought up from the membership)
Nov. 24th
- Not a regular meeting - Field trip to
Harster Greenhouses (follow link to learn more about them),
A guided behind the scenes tour. (limited # of

Dec. 16th
- Holiday Social meeting / Pot Luck (cancelled due to
extreme weather)
Jan. 20th - Alpine Gesneriads (GS Program)

16th - Columnea - Hanging out with an old friend – making
sense of the names and having fun with hanging baskets.

20th - meeting will be held in Fergus with host Paul Lee. A
regular meeting with the bonus of the hospitality of our host so
we can visit his various beautiful commercial plants. Directions
will be given in the newsletter previous and added to the

Annual OGS Plant Exhibition (no formally judged show)

Our 2nd Annual
Year End Pot Luck Social Picnic - This year will be hosted by
our Second Vice President at his home in East Aurora, just a
short trip south of the border in the outskirts of the Buffalo
area. An excellent grower and host, this will be a fun time with
lots of stories from July convention where we will be chartered.
